Festival prizes will be awarded in various categories, as
judged by a panel of artistic and industry experts.
ALAN HUNTER
Having made history as the first “vee-jay” to
introduce MTV to television viewers in August of 1981, Alan
Hunter became part of American pop culture during his six
years with the cutting-edge music video channel. Alan helped
make MTV the center of not only the music world, but the entertainment
world as a whole, with his interviews of such celebrities
as Billy Joel, Mick Jagger, Tom Cruise, Robin Williams and
Madonna, just to name a few.
Over the years, Alan has worked extensively for the Fox Network
on pilot shows and weekly programs, and he was also the host
of the Starz network’s reality show, “Looking
for Stars.” Radio listeners may also know Alan as the
voice of Verizon Wireless, and co-host of the “Big 80s”
channel on Sirius Satellite Radio, and co-founder of the Sidewalk
Moving Picture Festival (www.sidewalkfilm.org),
an independent film festival in Birmingham, Alabama. After
more than 10 years, the festival has received critical acclaim
by magazines such as MovieMaker, Filmmaker, and Time.
Alan currently heads the production company Hunter Films (www.hunterfilms.com).
